Artist / Researcher / Teacher
I am a professional illustrator, art director, and art educator. I have been a part of many teams, leading, coaching, nurturing, teaching, and mentoring highly creative and talented groups of industry artists and students. I have done work for such notables as the Walt Disney Company and Warner Bros, and have spent hours upon hours in creative meetings, art studios, and classrooms, surrounded by walls of Post-it notes, white boards, and tables covered in sketchbooks. I am a member of the Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS), and the National Art Education Association (NAEA). I graduated with Honors from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, in Illustration. I also received a Master of Arts in Art Education from the University of Florida, with a research emphasis on creativity. I was an invited artist to the ACTIVATE Arts Advocacy Leadership Program developed by Arts for LA and the LA County Arts Commission. I have been an active school community volunteer, serving in leadership positions on several boards, committees, and councils. I am passionate about the arts in education, and several years ago I developed and implemented a school community-based visual arts program. I'm proud to say it won an Innovation in Arts Advocacy award. I am always curious. |
